Atalanta U23s 2-0 Monopoli
Misitano and Cissè on the scoresheet for the Nerazzurri
Atalanta U23s returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Monopoli at the Caravaggio Municipal Stadium. Misitano and Cissé were on target in the second half, both set up by Ghislandi.
There was little to note in the first half, with both sides lacking a cutting edge in the final third. The visitors’ best chance came in the 38th minute, a first-time effort inside the box that drifted just wide. The Nerazzurri responded a minute later through Cassa, but his shot was too tame to trouble the Monopoli goalkeeper.
The game came to life after the break as Atalanta U23s took the lead in the 54th minute: a pinpoint cross from the right by Ghislandi was met by Misitano’s clinical header. On the hour mark, Vavassori went close with a powerful strike in the box, but Albertazzi was equal to it. The hosts kept up the pressure and nearly doubled their lead in the 70th minute, when Cassa cut inside on the counter and saw his effort deflected behind. The second goal arrived in the 73rd minute and mirrored the first: Ghislandi again delivered from the right, and Cissé made no mistake with his header. Late on, Bonanomi had two chances—first with a long-range effort turned behind, then with a close-range attempt from Cassa’s through ball, once again denied for a corner.
