Atalanta U23s 1-1 Padova
Vlahović equalizing on the buzzer
Atalanta U23s snatched a vital point against league leaders Padova courtesy of a 89-minute header from Vlahović, sewing up a nail-biting draw at the Caravaggio Municipal Stadium on the Serie C NOW MD34.
While the first half didn't offer much, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute through Fusi. The Nerazzurri responded on 40 minutes when Vavassori's header from Bernasconi's cross was saved by Fortin.
Taking matters into their own hands in the second half, the Nerazzurri put Padova's defence between a rock and a hard place from the get-go in pursuit of the equaliser and with the visitors battening down the hatches to hold on to their lead. Goal chances were few and far between until the 89th minute, when Bernasconi caressed a free-kick into the box for Vlahović, who headed it home to make it 1-1 and notch up his seasonal goal number 17.
