Atalanta strike back: Napoli toppled 2-1 in Bergamo
Pašalić and Samardžić flip the script at the New Balance Arena
Second-half fireworks lit up Bergamo as Atalanta roared back to stun Napoli. Goals from Pašalić and Samardžić flipped the script and sealed three massive points, keeping the Nerazzurri’s charge up the table in full swing. On the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive MD26, Atalanta toppled the reigning Italian champions 2-1 at the New Balance Arena to climb to 45 points.
After a levelled start, Napoli took the lead on 18 minutes, when Beukema nodded the ball into the net from a free-kick delivery. The Nerazzurri retorted with the Krstović-Kamaldeen duo, as Atalanta's number 7 saw his effort tipped behind for a corner by Milinkovic-Savic. Kamaldeen tried his luck once again on 40 minutes, but Milinković-Savić got down and gathered it at the second attempt. Right before the break, Carnesecchi stood his ground on Allison's point-blank chance: after denying the Brazilian, the Nerazzurri keeper then doubled down and denied Vergara's follow-up tap-in.
Right after the restart, Vergara dragged his shot wide of target, while Bellanova rose hightes in the 56th, but saw his header blocked. In the 61st Pašalić leveled the game in Bergamo, burying Zalewski's pinpoint corner-kick delivery past Milinkovic-Savic. The Nerazzurri neared the turnaround with Scamacca's rocket in the 68th, denied by Milinkovic-Savic with a diving save. The comeback came about in the 82nd,when Samardžić soared above his marker, meeting Bernasconi’s cross and powering a header into the bottom corner. That was the strike that killed the game off and wrapped up a massive three points.
