Atalanta Primavera to play at the Carillo Pesenti Pigna in Alzano Lombardo

Starting off with the Monday match against Bologna, the Carillo Pesenti Pigna stadium in Alzano Lombardo will become the appointed hosting venue for the home fixtures of Atalanta's Primavera

In the words of Roberto Samaden, the Head of Atalanta BC’s Youth Academy: “In view of the importance of the Primavera league, which also benefits from the valuable exposure of SportItalia's live tv coverage,the decision of finding a more suitable and more "receptive" (in terms of capacity) venue for the  Primavera's home fixtures was taken: upon weighing up all our options, we opted for the Carillo Pesenti Pigna stadium in Alzano Lombardo. This will provide Atalanta with the paramount opportunity of strengthening their bonds with their local roots by fully embracing  a territory renowned for its rich footballing heritage. I wish to thank on behalf of the Club the City Council of Alzano Lombardo for having offered the disposal of a venue so steeped in tradition, having also hosted Serie C commitments in the past, to our Primavera. I also seize the opportunity to tender my gratitude in advance to the local  sports club, both the track-and-field team ( namely, Sporting Club Alzano) and the football sides (namely, ASD Immacolata Alzano and USO Alzanese), for the key synergy and the precious contribution they will provide  in the organization and management of any future football event."

“The arrival of Atalanta BC in Alzano Lombardo stems from the stalwart hard work carried out by the many people who have always believed in this project – Camillo Bertocchi, mayor of Alzano Lombardo, cared to enlarge – We're honored to have the full confidence of a Club so renowned for its fruitful endeavors both from a sporting and value-driven standpoint, especially when it comes to its attentiveness towards the local territory and the nurturing of younger generations. I also wish to convey my most sincere compliments to all the sporting clubs involved: credit is due to how ASD Sporting Club Alzano, U.S.O. Immacolata and U.S.O. Alzanese have been able to seize this chance to the fullest, in a move bound to spur enthusiasm and growth (personal and sporting equal measure) in all our youngsters. However challenging this labour of teamplay was, all our efforts were fully rewarded with the best possible outcome, especially if we consider all the positive knock-on effects for our town”.

On the occasion of the ribbon-cutting Carillo Pesenti Pigna match between Atalanta Primavera and Bologna, scheduled for Monday 23 October at 15:00 CEST, admission to the stadium will be free of charge.
