Atalanta For Special Shine at the 5th Ernesto Modanesi Memorial
Nerazzurri in action in a three-team tournament with Azzano Special and Overlimits Crema
Atalanta For Special were among the standout participants at the 5th Ernesto Modanesi Memorial, held in Fara Gera d’Adda. Established to honour the memory of the long-serving Atalanta youth coach, the event has evolved into a genuine "sports village", celebrating inclusion, participation and the educational values of sport.
Each year, the Memorial brings together sports clubs, associations, volunteers and families, promoting sport as a powerful means of social inclusion and community engagement. The 2026 edition featured a wide range of disciplines and integrated activities, once again placing a strong emphasis on inclusive sport through initiatives for athletes with disabilities and projects aimed at fostering integration.
The mixed third- and fourth-level Atalanta For Special squad, coached by Perry Brignoli and Gianmario Lesmo, took part in a three-team tournament against Azzano Special and Overlimits Crema. The Nerazzurri opened their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Azzano, thanks to goals from Alessandro Urso, who finished off a fine assist from Marco Campo, and Gianmarco Masserini. Jordan Innocenti was outstanding between the posts, while goalkeeper Luca Pappalardo made his first appearance of the season.
In their second match against Overlimits Crema, Atalanta For Special delivered another encouraging performance. After conceding the opening goal, they created several chances to level the score, but two late strikes saw their opponents secure a 3-0 win.
Beyond the results on the pitch, the Ernesto Modanesi Memorial once again proved to be a valuable opportunity for people to come together and celebrate the true spirit of sport, promoting the values of inclusion, participation and community.
