Atalanta For Special's "scores" in the DPCS trial matches
The two teams on the pitch for a four-out-of-four sweep
Two Atalanta For Special sides have hit the pitches this weekend for the test matches held to define the most suitable competitive bracket in the upcoming DPCS league.
The two trial fixtures took place on Saturday morning at the Bettinelli Sporting Centre located in Lago di Nemi in Milan.
Games for both the Tier 3 and Tier 4 bracket were held simultaneously.
Hitting Pitch number 2, the "Senior" Atalanta For Special side took on Pavia: the Nerazzurri spun the thread of a much lively game, both playing and chances wise, but managed to only capitalise one of the countless attempts created, which did suffice to bring the game home, courtesy of Giacomo Probo, who etched his name on the scoresheet by finalizing a choral play with a flush-with-the-pole powerful drive, which roused the audience to a roaring applause.
Making its debut on pitch number, Atalanta For Special's "Junior" outfit faced Briantea AC Milan for their Tier 4 commitment. Unfazed by the expected butterflies in the stomach, the black-and-blue side didn't hold back, quite the contrary: thanks to Paolo Valota's hattrick, Andrea Arrigoni's relentless shot and Luca Lazzari's poaching finish, the Atalanta side imposed themselves 5-0.
Then came the double-header against Arduino.
While the Senior side ran out 3-0 winners thanks to Giacomo Probo (another ferocious strike), Mirko Rota (with his trademark left-footed scorcher) and Cordozo Fabian (who made his scoring debut), the Junior outfit came out on top 2-0 courtesy of Paolo Valota and Paolo Bitetti.
The morning proved itself extremely positive indeed! Kudos to all the 31 lads who took part in the trial matches under the watchful eye of coach Gianmario Lesmo and his technical staffing (Roberto Birolini, Aurelio Birolini, Alfredo Locati, Battista Mologni and Gioacchino Marconi). Lest we forget about all the parents and relatives, who attended the game in swathes!
