Atalanta For Special at the Coppa Quarenghi
First outing of the season for the Nerazzurri
Last Sunday was a big day for Atalanta For Special as they played their first tournament of the season, taking part in the Coppa Quarenghi (Quarenghi Cup), an event held in San Pellegrino (Bergamo) that has been showcasing the best of youth football for years.
A 9-1 win over Aurora Seriate For Special saw the Nerazzurri through to the final, where they met Associazione Mondonico.
It was the team named after the unforgettable and unforgotten Emiliano Mondonico who eventually lifted the laurel after defeating the Nerazzurri, who did their level best and spared nothing despite the competitive divide, 5-2.
The MVP of the tournament was Atalanta player Francesco Pezzotti.
On Saturday 7 September, Atalanta For Special will be back on the pitch to take part in the Tournament dedicated to Yara Gambirasio.
Come Sunday 8 September, the Nerazzurri will set camp in Selvino (Bergamo) to start pre-season preparations.
