Arzignano 1-1 Atalanta Under-23s
A lightining Cisse on target after 16 seconds
Honours even at the Tommaso Dal Molin stadium as the 2023-2024 Serie C NOW (Group A) MD38 match between hosting side Arzignano and Atalanta Under-23s culminated in a 1-1 draw. In addition to Cisse's 6th seasonal goal, his second back-to-back, the game was also marked by Cassa and Capac's professional debuts.
In the first round of the play-off stage, Atalanta U23s will face 10th-placed Trento.
Off to the most fledgling of all starts, Atalanta U23s took the lead 17 seconds after kick-off: after cutting out Pigozzo's goal kick, Muhameti unleashed Cisse's solo run who made no mistake in the one-on-one and gave Atalanta the lead with his sixth league goal. 4 minutes in and another chance for the Nerazzurri, with Ghislandi finalizing Panada's ball across the goal wide to the side. The hosts' retaliation came 14 minutes on the stopwatch through Mattioli, who finished to the side in the mano-a-mano with Vismara after a defensive slip-up from coach Modesto's lads. 5 minutes later the black-and-blue keeper sprung back into action to deflect Casini's ranged shot. Arzignano equalised on 26 minutes as Mattioli nodded in Bernardi's long pass.
Despite Atalanta reining the game throughout the second half, the Nerazzurri couldn't break the stalemate. Likewise, as the hosts' attempt didn't suffice to threaten coach Modesto's defence, the second half went by without any major thrill.
