A slick bit of “Sulemagic” seals the GOTM of May!
Voted by the Nerazzurri fans on all our social accounts
And after the POTM… here comes the GOTM! A masterstroke in May from an absolutely “unplayable” Ibrahim Sulemana: the undisputed king of the month. So much so that, based on exit polls, we can officially coin a new hashtag to join the viral ones already out there… #Sulemay! Winning the award, needless to say, is the first domino piece that sparked Atalanta’s late-season surge and more importantly mathematically secured the Nerazzurri’s fifth consecutive spot in the UEFA “Champion5” League. A golden goal for Atalanta’s true “Golden Boy” of May.
Second place goes to Daniel Maldini, the other big revelation of the season’s final stretch. Completing the podium… once again Ibrahim Sulemana, proving beyond doubt that last month the Nerazzurri’s number 6 was a genuine one-man army!
As always, here are the “exit polls” (with the percentage of votes in parentheses) before we dive into the details of our four finalists:

4th place: Andrea Ceresoli, AlbinoLeffe 1-3 Atalanta U23s, 2024/25 Serie C NOW Group A Play-offs Rd2 (11%)
Entry-level spot for the goal that completed the comeback by Francesco Modesto’s boys in Zanica, during the second round of the Playoffs. After Vlahović’s poacher’s finish brought Atalanta level, it was Ceresoli who hit the left blinker and stepped on the gas, giving the Nerazzurri the final push forward. Having already tested Marietta with a long-range warning shot, the number 20 finally found the gap in Seriana’s wall with a moment of pure flair: a pisadita with his left foot to leave the defender flat-footed, a sharp touch to shift the ball onto his right, and a powerful, pinpoint finish to seal it.
3rd Place: Ibrahim Suelmana, Genoa 2-3 Atalanta, 2024/25 Serie A Enilive MD37 (22%)
Bronze medal goes to Ibrahim Sulemana for his “2 out of 2” heroics! Just a week after flooring Roma, the number 6 steps up once again, sparking Atalanta’s comeback at the Ferraris with the goal that reignited their charge early in the second half after a first 45 dominated by Genoa’s opener. It all starts from a scrappy ball, handled with ice-cold composure: Ruggeri flicks it on with a header into Sulemana’s path. The Ghanaian brings it down on his chest and, without a second thought, unleashes a thunderous right-footed volley from well outside the box, arrowed across goal and into the far corner with surgical precision. Leali’s rooted to the spot. No chance.
Runner-up: Daniel Maldini, Atalanta 2-3 Parma, 2024/25 Serie A Enilive MD38 (26%)
Second place goes to Daniel Maldini! Awarded silver for the Nerazzurri’s final goal of the 2024/25 campaign: a curling rocket, both elegant and deadly, putting the exclamation mark on a fiery 70th minute of Atalanta brilliance! After opening the scoring with a feline swipe (a true estirada, as fútbol connoisseurs would say) from a Bellanova cross, the best was yet to come... Sulemana applies high pressure, wins the ball back, and lays it off to De Ketelaere. The Belgian plays a quick one-two with Brescianini, receives the ball again, and threads a pinpoint pass to Retegui, who flicks it on with a deft heel for Maldini. Standing just outside the box, the number 70 draws back and, without breaking stride, curls a sublime first-time shot that bends beyond Suzuki’s reach and nestles into the far corner, a fulmen in clausula to cap off a beautifully crafted team move!

And finally, rounding off the climb to the podium, it's him again: Ibrahim Sulemana. Like in a perfect ringkomposition, the number 6 in black and blue returns to the spotlight, wrapping up the trio of winners and capping off a picture-perfect month of May with a clean sweep of accolades.
He clinches first place thanks to his go-ahead goal against Roma, a true turning point in the season, and not just for the number 6! That strike lit the spark for Ibrahim’s magic moment, kicking off the rise of "Sulemania" and sealing his status as a true fan favorite. 75th minute: Lookman takes off down the left flank in a breakaway for glory, whips in a driven cross to Retegui, who, with his back to goal, cushions it and lays it off to the last man anyone expected… Ibrahim Sulemana! The Ghanaian times his run to perfection and meets it first-time on the half-volley: the ball carves its way through a tangle of white shirts (they say fortune favors the bold!) and nestles into the bottom corner, leaving Svilar wrong-footed. From unsung hero to savior of the hour, all in under three seconds!
