A new jack in Atalanta's deck: Raspadori is Nerazzurro
The 25-Year-Old Italian international joins from Atlético Madrid
Giacomo Raspadori is Atalanta BC’s seventh permanent signing of the 2025/26 season. The Nerazzurri have secured the player’s services from Atlético de Madrid. An offensive "jack of all trades", the Italian international has clocked up 45 caps and 11 goals for the Azzurri, with whom he lifted the UEFA EURO 2020 trophy. With 164 Serie A appearances to his name, registering 31 goals and 15 assists, Raspadori was crowned Italian champion twice with Napoli. Giacomo also brings substantial European experience, with 17 UEFA Champions League appearances (6 goals, 4 assists) split between Napoli and Atlético Madrid. He featured for the Spanish side in the opening stretch of the current campaign, making 15 appearances across all competitions, with 2 goals and 3 assists to his name.
The Bologna-born striker will wear the number 18 shirt.
A graduate of Sassuolo’s youth academy, where he rose through every age group to eventually captain the side, Raspadori made his Serie A and senior debut against Atalanta on the final matchday of the 2018/19 season, a night etched in Nerazzurri history, as it sealed the Club’s first-ever qualification for the Champions League.
He remained at Sassuolo until the summer of 2022, chalking up 82 appearances and 18 goals, before making the switch to Napoli. Over three seasons in Campania, he proved a key attacking asset across the frontline, helping drive Napoli to two league titles and scoring 18 goals in 109 outings, including decisive strikes in key wins over Spezia and Juventus during the 2022/23 Scudetto run, and against Venezia, Fiorentina and Lecce in the 2024/25 campaign.
Mirroring his club rise, his journey with the Azzurri began at youth level and culminated in his senior debut in June 2021 in a friendly against the Czech Republic. Later that month, he featured at the European Championship against Wales as part of the title-winning squad. Scoring-wise, Raspadori opened his international scoring account in a World Cup qualifier against Lithuania, and most recently found the net against Estonia last September, fittingly at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo.
The Percassi and Pagliuca families, along with the entire Club, extend a warm welcome to Giacomo and wish him the very best, both on and off the pitch, in his journey in Nerazzurri colours.
