The 21-year-old Ghanian lands in Bergamo from Cagliari

Atalanta BC are glad to announce the outright signing of footballer Ibrahim Sulemana Kakari from Cagliari Calcio. The 21-year-old Ghanaian midfielder already flaunts two Serie A seasons to his name.

Born in Sunyani on 22 May 2003, he landed in Italian football at the hands of Hellas Verona, with whom, after a fledgling Primavera season, made his Serie A debut on 9 October 2022 away at Salernitana coming off the bench in lieu of Veloso 20 minutes prior to the final whistle. He closed his maiden season with 17 appearances for the Scaligiers, including the winning relegation play-off game against Spezia - where he featured in the starting XI.

In the summer of 2023, he made a permanent move to Cagliari, playing 24 games in all competitions (namely, 21 Serie A caps and 3 Coppa Italia appearances) and scoring two goals (the first dating to January 2024 against Frosinone and the latter being scored in early April against his former team) to secure the team's top-flight status in the 2024/25 campaign.

At the end of the previous campaign, specifically on 6 June, Sulemana also made his Senior debut as a Ghana international, featuring in the World Cup win over Mali.

The Percassi and Pagliuca families and the whole Club would like to extend a warm welcome to Ibrahim Sulemana Kakari and wish him the best of luck in his future personal and team endeavours as a Nerazzurro.
