UEFA Youth League, Nerazzurri trailing by Real Madrid at home
Atalanta are currently 6th in the League Phase
Home setback for the Nerazzurri as the 2024/25 UEFA Youth League MD6 saw visiting side Real Madrid impose themselves 0-4 in Caravaggio.
The first half proved itself a levelled affair, as both teams traded blows aplenty on several occasions. While Riccio neared the lead on 23 minutes from a free-kick attempt, his chance got deflected out of play for a throw-in by Navarro. Barely 60 seconds later Bonanomi tried his chances with an attempt from range, with the ball flashing feebly off target to the right side. Right before the halfway whistle the Blancos earned themselves a penalty kick through Roberto Martín, then converted by Aguado.
In the second half Real Madrid doubled and stretched their lead with substitute Ortega Conde, who completed a brace in just three minutes: after finding the back of the net through an untoward deflection in the 66th, the Spaniard made it 3-0 on 69 minutes with a headed finish. The visitors then closed their haul in the 75th as Fortea hit the target with his left-footed snooker finish. After Baldo had his go in the closing minutes, the match culminated in a 4-0 setback.
