Primavera: the Winter recap
7th in the standings, the Nerazzurri defeated Frosinone before the break
With the 2023-2024 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” league on hold for the winter break, coach Giovanni Bosi's team resumed training in Zingonia after a few days off in preparation for their upcoming fixture, which will see the Nerazzurri play Genoa away on Monday, January 8, for Matchday 16.
With two league fixtures left to the halfway stage, Atalanta are 7th in the standings with 23 points gained in 15 matches on the grounds of the 6 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses registered thus far. Having claimed a 3-1 away victory against last-placed Frosinone in their latest league fixture before the break, the black-and-blue U19s are just one place shy of the play-off territory: being in fact, three points behind the Sassuolo-Torino duo and four points away from Milan and Roma, the two contenders to the third place.
On the grounds of the 28 goals scored, coach Bosi's team can flaunt the fourth-best attacking force in the league: on par with Milan and only lagging behind the likes of Juventus (29), Inter and Torino (tied on 31 goals each).
While 33 players have hit the pitch with the U19s' shirt in all competitions, 11 of them have found their scoring ways. With 14 goals scored in as many matches, not only is Vanja Vlahović the team's top scorer, but he's also the current pace-setter of the league's "Top Scorers' Chart", being 4 nets clear of both his closest pursuers-namely, Hellas Verona's Diao and Sassuolo's Russo. With 5 goals each in all competitions, Alberto Manzoni and Dominic Vavassori are the other two best scorers of the team.
Andrea Bonanomi is the team's best assist provider, having dished out 9 key passes.
Moving on to playing time, goalkeeper Piotr Pardel is the player with the most minutes in his locker room (with 1642 minutes in 17 matches among all competitions), followed by captain Alessio Guerini (1566 minutes) and Manzoni (1445 minutes).
