On matchday 29 of the 2022-2023 Primavera 1 TIM "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” league, Atalanta Under-19s clinch a 1-1 draw against fifth-placed Sassuolo at the stadium Ricci in Sassuolo.
After an early chance for Sassuolo, the hosts took the lead through Mata from a corner in the fifth minute. Following Bertini's save on Russo's close-range effort on 10 minutes, the black-and-blues tried to sting the Sassuolo goalkeeper's gloves with a few strikes from distance, especially through De Nipoti (pictured in the cover in the home match) and Muhameti. The last attempt before half-time was Muhameti's header, which was smothered by the black-and-green goalkeeper.
The second half opened with Bertini's save on D'Andrea's tricky finish on 52 minutes, but six minutes later De Nipoti levelled the score by coolly converting the penalty awarded to Atalanta. Fioretto's lads came close to taking the lead in the 79th minute when Regonesi's effort from Muhameti's free-kick was inches off target. That being the final chance of the game, the outing at the stadium Ricci ended 1-1. Atalanta U19s will hit the pitch again on Wednesday the 3rd of May for the rescheduled fixture against Milan taking place at the Centro Bortolotti (match to kick off at 16:00 CEST).
