Nerazzurri ready for a dazzling start to the year with challenges on three fronts

The new year will bring another hectic schedule for the Nerazzurri, with up to seven matches (possibly eight) across three competitions. From a semi-final in the Arabic desert wind to high-stakes Serie A battles, whether home or away, and thrilling Champions League nights, January will satisfy even the most discerning football fans...

A thrilling start to 2025 is in store as an “Atalanta of Arabia” kicks off the new year in Riyadh: the Saudi capital will be the stage for the first of two semifinals of the Italian Super Cup, featuring an all-Nerazzurri showdown between Atalanta and Inter at the Al-Awwal Park Stadium (Thursday, 2nd at 20:00 CET, 22:00 SAST local time). The winner will face the victor of the other semifinal, between Juventus and Milan, on January 6 (time to be confirmed).

Gasperini's men will then return to Italy to kick off the second half of the season with a trip to the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine for the first of two close encounters with a black-and-white team, in this case, Udinese. The match for the first round of the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive's second half is scheduled to start at 15:00 CET on Saturday, 11th.

As mentioned, the game against Udinese will be the first of a pair of matches against two Bianconeri sides, first away and then at home. The next challenge will be Juventus in the 19th round: in true "Christopher Nolanesque" fashion, Atalanta will thus officially conclude the first half of the season with a midweek match on Tuesday the 14th, returning to the Gewiss Stadium nearly a month after the Christmas Match against Empoli. Get ready for our first home match of 2025 kicking off at 20:45 CET.

From one Big Match to another, Atalanta's intense schedule will continue without pause, with the third Serie A match in just one week! Napoli will visit the Gewiss Stadium for a breathtaking home one-two... Mark your calendars for Saturday, 18th at 20:45 CET for a prime-time clash against the Neapolitans.

And if there weren’t enough "tables to play on" in January, the second half of the month will see the Champions League awaken from its slumber with the League Phase MD7: during the penultimate day of the “Phase 1” of the UCL, Sturm Graz will enter the Gewiss gates for the third and final home game of the month, on a Tuesday evening destined to bring back memories from the previous season... Save the date for the 21st at 18:45 CET.

After three consecutive home games, it will be time for the second away trip of the month: for their last Serie A game of the month, Atalanta will head to the “branch of Lake Como” for a Saturday afternoon match at the Sinigaglia stadium, with the kick-off scheduled for 15:00 CET on the 25th.

After the glamour of Bellagio, Atalanta will once again be swept away by the sparkle of big European nights, this time in the “Ciudad Condal” as January ends in Catalonia with the grand finale of the League Phase against Barcelona. Time for a fully-fledged football exhibition as Gaudí’s iconic style is bound to meet the pitch at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc for an unforgettable Wednesday night of spectacle. The match against the Blaugrana will kick off at 21:00 on the 29th!
