Michel Adopo: Atalanta’s new midfielder
The French player in force at Torino last season
Atalanta B.C. wish to announce the signing of Michel Ndary Adopo. The French midfielder, previously in force at Torino, joins the black-and-blue Club after having accrued 11 appearances for the Maroons: respectively, 9 Serie A caps and 2 Coppa Italia appearances (embellished by the single goal scored in the domestic cup).
Born on the 19th of July 2000 in Villenueve-Saint-Georges, France, to parents of Ivorian origins, he came through the French Academy system, having played for Bussy-Saint-Georges before his move to Torcy. On the 30th of January 2018, he signed for Torino and was enrolled in the Primavera side for the following two seasons (racking up 50 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 7 assists). During his stint for the Maroon U19s, Adopo was crowned champions of both the Coppa Italia Primavera and the Primavera Italian Supercup. His Serie A debut for Torino dates back to the outing played against Roma on the 5th of January 2020; oddly enough, Adopo made his second appearance of the 2019/20 season against the Giallorossi.
To accrue playing time, he was loaned to Serie C side Viterbese for one-and-a-half season, racking up 53 appearances (while also scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist).
Getting back to base after his loan spell, the 2022/23 season saw Adopo got more and more involved in the dynamics of Torino's First Team: on the 13th of August 2022, he featured the Maroon line-up for the first time in the winning Serie A outing against Monza. On the 11th of January 2023, straight in the heart of extra time, Adopo scored the winning goal in the Coppa Italia match against Milan to give Torino a 1-0 win and to etch the Maroon's name in the quarterfinals.
Atalanta B.C. would like to extend a warm welcome to Michel Ndary Adopo and wish him the best of luck in his future personal and team endeavours as a black-and-blue.
