Grief over the passing of Humberto Maschio
The Club's mourning
Atalanta, deeply moved, mourn the passing of Humberto Maschio.
An offensive midfielder, born in Argentina but naturalized Italian, Humberto Maschio donned the black-and-blue shirt for three seasons, from the 1959/60 to the 1961/62 campaign, for a tally of 85 Atalanta appearances and 26 goals scored. During his tenure as a Nerazzurro, Maschio represented Italy also taking part in the 1962 World Cup hosted in Chile.
He is regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever defended Atalanta's badge.
President Antonio Percassi, co-chairman Stephen Pagliuca and the whole Atalanta family commemorate Humberto Maschio's legacy and, sharing the pain felt by all his loved ones, wish to tender their most heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies.
Farewell, Humberto!
