Gewiss Stadium standoff with Cagliari
Nerazzurri held to a goalless draw on MD25
Points were shared in Bergamo as the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive MD25 played out to a 0-0 draw.
With both sides shutting off any opening, the first half proved itself a stifled contention until the dying minutes, as the Nerazzurri piled up chances on their quest for the breakthrough: first on 35 minutes came Samardžić, who had his curler blocked by Caprile, with Toloi following suit minutes later as his range shot hissed a hair's breadth over the top corner.
As the game resumed, while Deiola broke the ice on 58 minutes sending his shot to the side, Brescianini found the back of the net for the Nerazzurri, only for the goal to be then ruled out for an alleged challenge by Posch on Caprile. The Nerazzurri pulled out all the stops and tried their luck, but the Cagliari defenders did not allow many chances. De Ketelaere went close in the 85th minute, but his left-footed shot was deflected off a defender. Going pedal to the medal, the Nerazzurri laid siege on Cagliari: leaving his marker in the dust and free to go one-on-one with Caprile, Vlahović went for a shot in the 89th, with the ball tipped out for a corner by the opposing keeper. 60-odd seconds later Pašalić skimmed the post with a vicious ranged finish. With the last chance of the game fizzling out, the stalemate reigned supreme at the Gewiss Stadium.
