Daniel Maldini signs for Atalanta
Joining from Monza on a permanent deal
Atalanta BC are glad to announce the permanent signing of 23-year-old forward Daniel Maldini from AC Monza.
Born in Milan on 11 October 2001, Daniel climbed up the AC Milan Youth Academy ladders all the way to his First Team debut, which occurred on 2 February 2020 in front of the San Siro crowd on the occasion of the Serie A game played against Hellas Verona.
Upon reaching First Team status for the Rossoneri Club in the 2020-2021 campaign, Daniel collected 5 Serie A caps and made 4 more international appearances on the UEFA Europa League stage.
The 2021-2022 season, which saw Milan claim the Scudetto, ended with Maldini notching up 13 appearances across all competitions: namely, 8 in the Serie A, 3 in the UEFA Champions League and 2 in the Coppa Italia.
Next came a loan spell at Spezia in the 2022-2023 season, where Daniel scored 3 goals, of which 2 in his 18 Serie A games and 1 in his 2 Coppa Italia caps donning for the Ligurian Whites' jersey.
Upon spending the first half of the 2023/24 season with Empoli, he completed a move to Monza in January 2024, where he made 18 appearances in the Italian top flight, embellished by 4 goals and 1 assist.
Featuring for the Briantei also in the former half of the current campaign, Maldini has defended the white-and-red shirt of the Brianza side in 20 Serie A matches, netting 3 goals and providing 1 key pass, along with 1 appearance in the Coppa Italia.
Upon representing Italy at the youth level, playing for the Under-18s, Under-19s and Under-20s Azzurrini sides, Daniel eventually made his Senior debut on October 14 2024 making a substitute appearance in Italy's 4-1 win over Israel in the UEFA Nations League before earning his second cap in a 3-1 defeat to France.
