Atalanta For Special at the "Città di Bussero" tourney

The Nerazzurri took part in the quadrangular tournament

Atalanta For Special have been one of the teams partaking in the maiden edition of the 7-a-side “Città di Bussero” tournament, which debuted last week in the province of Milan.

The Nerazzurri entered the event, set in the welcoming scenery offered by the Pala Martesana, which hosted a substantial attendance gathered for the occasion, together with ASD Ticino, ASD Arcobaleno-Monza Special and LPK Pozzo d’Adda.

Opposed to Tier-3 side ASD Ticino in the first qualifying game, coach Lesmo's lads eventually imposed themselves 5-2 and counterbalanced the opponents' grit and stalwart tactics through their bubbly playing style pivoted on an attuned "choral phrasing" and ball possession. As for the scoreboard Probo, Pezzotti and Cordozo (brace) went on target for Atalanta for Special.

Moving on to the tournament's Final Phase, the nerazzurri contended Tier-2 side Monza For Special in a rough game: in spite of the bumpy start as the Briantei took the lead and doubled it within the opening minutes, Atalanta nonetheless stood their ground and swore by their usual pro-active style, whilst Monza relied on their pronounced physical superiority. Despite the cold shower due to the double trailing position, the Bergamo side spared nothing and knuckled down to make it 1-3 through Pezzotti, who finalized Cordozo's assist, before frittering away the chance to put the match back in contention.

Regardless of the final outcome, which saw the highest-ranked team prevail at the end of an on par performance by Atalanta For Special, especially given the many absences, the black-and-blue staffing couldn't be happier with the display showcased by the team. In summation, the day gave glimpses of several margins for medium-to-long-term improvement and growth.
